The skidpan of the Circuit Paul Ricard is specially designed for running preventive driving courses. In place of the conventional resin surface, it uses a special low-grip concrete-bitumen HZ surface which provides the maximum degree of skid.
A watering system enables wet-surface driving conditions to be recreated using production cars equipped with standard tyres.
The skid pan provides complete safety for trainees to acquire an awareness of their limits and learn to react to loss of control, aquaplaning or sudden obstacles.
By teaching drivers to understand and anticipate the risks of everyday driving and to adjust their behaviour accordingly, the dynamic driving courses can limit the risks of accidents to people and property.
